Through my experience as a birth worker, I have been both humbled and astounded by the body’s capacity to do amazing things. I have learned that the strength of the human spirit can accomplish things never before thought capable.
With connection, bravery, surrender and love, babies are born. There are so many paths to parenthood: as a couple, acting solo, with a surrogate, with science, or maybe by surprise. It is an absolute honor to support all forms and routes, and I am here to partner with you in your unique journey.

Yoga In The Childbearing Year
It is beneficial to do yoga therapy both while growing a baby and after birthing your baby. Prenatal sessions build awareness and function in the core, including the pelvic floor and can be very beneficial in optimizing core function and minimizing diastasis recti or pelvic floor dysfunctions. These sessions are designed to create strength and stability in the glutes and legs to help stabilize the pelvis and support the sacroiliac joint and potentially prevent SI pain, sciatica or pubic symphysis dysfunction. The sessions also focus on creating movement and space in the torso for deeper breath, and mobility in the chest and upper back to alleviate the back pain common with gestation. The sessions involve movements to encourage optimal positioning of your baby for birth and poses that can be used during labor to support your body and aid in navigating your baby into the world. Postpartum sessions are designed to support the postpartum body (for all births) in healing from birth, gently rebuilding awareness, connection and function. With a focus on the core - including the pelvic floor, abdominal muscles, and breath - sessions target areas of the body that may be weak or fatigued from carrying a baby, labor, or new parenthood tasks. These sessions provide space to re-engage with one’s body with curiosity, tenderness and compassion. Healing and function recovery can take more time than the 9-10 months you took growing your baby. These sessions can help with diastasis recti, prolapse, incontinence, back pain, postural awareness and general body tension. This is a space to connect with yourself, exactly where you are, and make intentional steps in the direction that serves your whole self.
